KD showcases optical automotive Ethernet innovation at TAIPEI AMPA & E Mobility Taiwan 2026
2026-04-17 · KD
KD has concluded a successful participation as an exhibitor at TAIPEI AMPA & E-Mobility Taiwan 2026, one of Asia’s key meeting points for the future of mobility. Held from April 14 to 17 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, the event formed part of the 360° Mobility Mega Shows, a platform designed to connect the automotive supply chain with emerging trends in connected, efficient and sustainable transportation.
Throughout the exhibition, one message came through clearly in conversations across the show floor: optical connectivity is no longer being viewed as a long term possibility, but as a technology increasingly ready for implementation. That direction closely matched the event’s broader focus on connected mobility, electrification and next generation vehicle technologies, bringing together exhibitors and visitors across 13 specialized areas of the mobility ecosystem.
At its booth, KD showcased its 10GBASE-AU optical camera system demo, developed in collaboration with Leopard Imaging and Corning and powered by the KD7251 optical transceiver. The demonstration offered a tangible example of how optical automotive Ethernet can support the bandwidth, robustness and system scalability required for advanced driver assistance systems and software defined vehicle architectures. KD’s KD7251 platform supports 2.5, 5 and 10 Gb/s in a single chip solution, reinforcing the company’s message that the technology building blocks are already in place.
The response at the stand confirmed strong interest in the full ecosystem behind optical connectivity, from transceivers and connectors to cabling and system integration. The event provided a valuable setting to exchange ideas with industry professionals, explore practical deployment paths and deepen conversations around the role of fiber based networking in future vehicle architectures. A special thank you goes to David Cheng and Hiro Cheng for leading those discussions on site and helping turn the booth into a meeting point for meaningful technical exchange.
As the industry continues to move toward more connected and software driven vehicles, KD remains committed to helping accelerate that transition with scalable, implementation ready optical connectivity solutions.
