This strong commitment is being funded in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan and the IPCEI_ME.

Ana Anibarro, Mechanical Engineer at KD

Study the”Master on Numerical Simulation in Engineering with ANSYS”. The program focuses on advanced numerical analysis applied to Solid Mechanics. In the context of microchips, it allows to evaluate mechanical stress and strain distributions during production, assembly, operation or test, considering thermal, mechanical or vibration loads. This is key to predict structural failures, delaminations or thermal fatigue in packages, solder joints or adhesive interfaces, ensuring reliability in real conditions.
Sai Carpio, Junior Verification Engineer at KD

Sai has a degree in Computer Science with a specialization in computers. From there they entered the “Master’s Degree in New Electronic and Photonic Technologies”. In September Sai hopes to be able to access the PhD program after presenting their TFM, a tool focused on the configuration registers of a design. The goal is for the tool to analyze a single register description and generate the necessary files for synthesis, simulation, documentation, firmware… and thus not having to generate them manually, which is prone to errors.
Pablo Jiménez-Fernández, Analog & Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer

Pablo’s doctoral research focuses on the analog and mixed-signal design of digital PLLs with LC-DCOs for 25–50 Gb/s SerDes interfaces, integrated into optical and electrical links for automotive applications. His work encompasses a study of the state of the art, system-level modeling, schematic-level circuit design, physical implementation with parasitic extraction and annotation, and functional validation through simulations and experimental measurements.
Pedro Barba, Junior Analog & Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer

Pedro is studying the PhD in physical sciences and technologies, in the line of micro-nano electronics. His work consists in the study of ADCs (Analog-to-Digital Converters) for high-speed optical receivers. Due to the losses that appear when transmitting an optical signal through a channel, the signal is degraded and it becomes complicated to interpret the data received. Correction techniques are available to overcome this problem; traditionally this has been done with analog circuits. However, there are limitations that make digital correction more interesting. For this, it is necessary to add an analog-to-digital converter to the data reception. The innovation of the work is to get an ADC that is fast enough and accurate enough, for this different state of the art techniques are studied trying to propose alternatives and improvements.
