KD brings optical Ethernet to the forefront of the debate at AEC 2026 in Munich
2026-02-16
KD will participate as an exhibitor at the Automotive Ethernet Congress 2026, organized by Elektronik automotive and Componeers, on March 25 and 26 in Munich, at the Garching headquarters. The team will be available for meetings and demonstrations at booth C 04.
During the event, KD will present its latest demonstrations of high-speed optical Ethernet for automotive applications, showcasing how optical connectivity drives scalable internal networks that are EMI-immune and ready for future vehicle architectures. These demos reflect KD’s focus on robust solutions for ADAS, software-defined vehicles, and new generations of electrical and electronic architecture.
Among the new products on display at the booth, three key proposals stand out: the first 10GBASE AU camera system with fiber optic connectivity for automotive applications, developed in collaboration with Leopard Imaging and Corning Incorporated; the enhanced VN5650 validation platform from Vector Informatik, which enables optical Ethernet testing up to 10 Gbit/s links; and the KD7251, the first optical receiver compliant with the IEEE Std 802.3cz specification, a single-chip solution with integrated optical interface that supports 2.5, 5, and 10 Gb/s over glass fiber optics for automotive applications.
In addition to the exhibition, KD will co-organize a special session on automotive optical Ethernet with Bosch and other partners, bringing together key players in the ecosystem to discuss market maturity, standards, and real-world applications. For more details on the session, please refer to the information published by KD.
