Successful Participation at OFC 2026
KD has concluded its participation in OFC 2026 with a highly positive outcome,
following a week of strong engagement, valuable industry conversations and
enthusiastic interest in the company’s optical communications technologies for
automotive applications. Held in Los Angeles from 15 to 19 March 2026, with the
exhibition taking place from 17 to 19 March, OFC is described by its organizers as the
world’s largest annual gathering for optical networking and communications
professionals, making it a key international stage for showcasing next generation
connectivity solutions.
Industry Engagement and Networking
During the event, KD’s team, including Luisma Torres, Principal Engineer, Diego
Alejandro Rossi, FAE, and Robert van Hamersveld, Business Development Manager,
connected with members of the global optical communications community and shared
the company’s latest progress in automotive networking. The response at the booth
confirmed the growing interest in optical technologies as the automotive industry moves
toward more demanding data architectures, higher bandwidth requirements and more
robust in vehicle communication systems.
Live Demonstration of 10GBASE-AU Camera System
A central highlight of KD’s presence at OFC 2026 was the live demonstration,
developed together with Leopard Imaging and Corning Incorporated, of the first
10GBASE AU enabled automotive camera system with optical fiber connectivity. The
demo offered a concrete example of how IEEE 802.3cz optical Ethernet is moving
beyond standardization and into real world implementation, showing the potential of
optical links to support more scalable, reliable and high performance automotive
networks.
Technical Insights into Optical Automotive Ethernet
KD’s participation was further strengthened by a technical presentation from Luisma
Torres, focused on the requirements and capabilities of Optical Automotive Ethernet,
from 2.5G to 50GBASE AU, for real automotive environments. By combining a live
demonstration with technical insight, KD left Los Angeles with a clear message: optical
communications are gaining real traction in the automotive sector, and the company is
helping drive that transition from concept to deployment.
