KD Heads to AutoSens Europe 2026 with Optical Connectivity in the Spotlight

KD will take part in AutoSens Europe 2026, from September 22–24 at La Farga de L’Hospitalet in Barcelona, with its own booth and a clear focus: demonstrating how optical technology is advancing as a high-performance connectivity solution for next-generation vehicles. Bringing together more than 1,000 engineers, innovators and decision-makers working across ADAS and autonomous vehicle technologies, AutoSens Europe has become a key meeting point for the automotive sensing ecosystem, making it an ideal setting to discuss the role of Automotive Optical Ethernet in increasingly data-intensive vehicle architectures.

At Stand 140, KD will showcase its 10GBASE-AU automotive optical camera demo, developed together with Leopard Imaging and Corning. The real-world camera implementation integrates the KD7251 optical transceiver and demonstrates its MIPI CSI-2 extension capabilities, supporting a four-lane D-PHY interface at up to 2.5 Gbps per lane. Beyond high-speed data transmission, the optical connection also enables management and monitoring of the remote sensor node, while an integrated KD firmware library optimized for the NVIDIA Jetson Orin platform helps simplify system integration and accelerate development. KD is officially exhibiting at Stand 140 in the 2026 exhibition.

The company will also contribute to the AutoSens Europe technical programme. On Wednesday, September 23 at 16:30 CEST in the Auditorium, Luis Medina, Field Application Engineer, and Juan L. Matus, FAE & Customer Support Manager at KD, will present “Improving Predictive Maintenance in ADAS Sensor Networks through Runtime Optical Link Monitoring”. The session will examine the dependability and monitoring capabilities of multi-gigabit Automotive Optical Ethernet based on IEEE 802.3cz, showing how transceiver-integrated monitoring and bidirectional status exchange can provide continuous, quantitative information about optical-link quality while the vehicle is operating.

Together, the live demonstration and technical presentation will highlight how optical connectivity can address more than bandwidth alone, combining high-speed sensor data transmission with runtime visibility into link health and system status. Juan Pardo, Deputy General Director at KD, Juan L. Matus and Luis Medina will be at AutoSens Europe throughout the event to discuss Automotive Optical Ethernet, ADAS connectivity, software-defined vehicle architectures and future sensor-network requirements, and to welcome visitors interested in seeing the technology in operation at Stand 140.
