KD showed AutoSens Europe attendees the first automotive camera with high-speed optical connectivity

2025-10-13

KD was present in Barcelona, from 7 to 9 October, at AutoSens Europe to showcase the latest innovations. Among them, the first 802.3cz Camera, LI-VENUS-ISX031-BASE-AU from Leopard Imaging, which is based on our 10GBASE-AU KD7251 optical transceiver, which uses CSI-2 over optical Ethernet and communicates data with a link of up to 40 meters. The camera includes a hybrid cable and connector system designed and development by Corning Incorporated.

Juan Luis Matus (CSM), Pablo Blázquez (BDM), Luis Medina (FAE) and Mario Campos (Software & Firmware Engineer) showed attendees the demo of the new camera. In addition, they were lucky during this event to get a clear view of how the automotive ecosystem is evolving, from OEMs and Tier-1s to all the technology providers gathered in one place. They came away with a very positive impression of how optical communications are being perceived as a key part of the automotive industry’s future.

The event, which took place at the Palau de Congressos, featured more than 60 expert speakers, over 50 booths, engaging panels, technical case studies, and exploration of 12 key topics, with cutting-edge demos from sensor and computer vision leaders.
