KD Strengthens Its Presence in Asia at Korea Electronics Show 2026
2026-09-01 · KD
KD will strengthen its presence in Asia this October with its participation in Korea Electronics Show (KES) 2026, taking place from October 13 to 16 at COEX in Seoul, Republic of Korea. As one of South Korea’s leading technology exhibitions, KES brings together key players from the electronics, mobility, semiconductor and digital technology industries, providing an important platform for international companies to connect with Korea’s advanced technology ecosystem. KD will participate as part of the EU Business Hub Korea Electronics Show 2026, reinforcing its commitment to building new relationships and exploring business opportunities in one of Asia’s most dynamic automotive and electronics markets.
At the exhibition, KD will demonstrate a live optical communication link between two EVB7251 evaluation boards, built around the KD7251 multigigabit automotive optical transceiver. The setup delivers IEEE 802.3cz-compliant communication over OM3 multimode glass optical fiber at speeds of up to 10 Gb/s. Acting as a media converter between the optical BASE-AU interface and SFP+, the EVB7251 offers a practical platform for evaluating KD7251 technology and exploring its integration into next-generation automotive network architectures.
KD will also showcase the 10GBASE-AU automotive camera system developed together with Leopard Imaging and Corning. With the KD7251 automotive optical transceiver IC at its core, the system integrates IEEE 802.3cz-compliant optical connectivity into a compact automotive camera module, enabling 10 Gb/s data transmission over glass optical fiber. The demonstration highlights the potential of optical Ethernet to support the growing bandwidth requirements of cameras, sensors and ADAS applications as vehicle architectures become increasingly connected, data-intensive and software-defined.
Beyond the technology on display, KES will provide KD with an opportunity to deepen its engagement with Korean automotive and electronics companies and develop new international partnerships. Through the EU Business Hub – Japan and the Republic of Korea, KD will join other European technology companies seeking to establish and expand business relationships in the region. Jang Won Lee, David Cheng and Hiro Cheng will represent KD throughout the show, meeting with industry partners and discussing how automotive optical connectivity can contribute to the evolution of future vehicle networks.
