KD unveils its new optical transceiver at AutoSens 2025 USA

KD was proud to attend this year’s AutoSens USA, in Detroit, one of the industry’s premier events for vehicle perception and automotive sensing technologies. With an elevated level of attendance and a notable increase in software-driven safety and ADAS solutions, the conference reflected the growing momentum and complexity of the future mobility landscape.
During the event, we presented our new KD7251 optical transceiver by participating in a press briefing and featuring in our booth a world’s first: a complete, automotive-grade camera-to-display optical link utilizing glass optical fiber and powered by our proprietary KD7152 transceiver chip. This groundbreaking technology enables a robust, high-bandwidth, and interference-resistant solution, perfectly aligned with the stringent requirements of next-generation vehicle architectures. KD specialists Juan Luis Matus (CSM), Robert van Hamersveld (BDM) and Daniel Moreno (FAE) showed a demo of the new KD7251 to attendees and customers who stopped at our booth.
In addition, Robert van Hamersveld also gave an interview to AutoVision News Radio, in which he gave insight into our CMOS-based transceiver technology for harsh environments, including early innovations with future applications such as flying cars, and how this single-chip solution can be manufactured at scale for high-volume automotive production.
We were especially encouraged by the vibrant discussions with Tier 1 suppliers, OEMs, and R&D leaders who recognize the escalating demands for high-speed, reliable in-vehicle data transmission—especially with the rise of autonomous driving and increasingly immersive in-cabin experiences.
